Reminds me of the movie "Fargo."

It's a great movie. But that attitude he's talking about is totally seen in the way the people in Fargo deal with the murders in the movie.

Spider can take his superiority complex and shove it up his ass. There are actually some of us down here who are working to make things better.

I like Spider, and I'm really hoping to make it to ConCarolinas in Charlotte this year (you hear that? Think you could possibly make it?)

However, just as the Americans who make it up to Canada aren't the most polite he's ever met, the Canadians who come down here aren't exactly the nicest either. Switching price tags, returning merchandise when they come to town, and then trying to return it before they leave*, low tips to servers at restaurants... the list of complaints grows every year I live here.

*sigh* I like where I live. I've made so many close friends (which is unlike me.) that I don't know that I would ever cut my ties here permanently, but living in a tourist town and seeing how that affects my friends and family who cater to them, can be very disheartening.

*-Of course... The snowbirds aren't the only ones who play the buy it then return it when your done game. The Spring breakers do it too. You'd think people who are that much older and theoretically more mature, wouldn't act like drunken college kids.

Spider Robinson is such a hack anyway. He managed to make some money while copying Robert Heinlein and now thinks he's a genius.

The reason why the conservatives won in Canada is because the liberals cut their own throats. Voters had enough of their scandals and unfulfilled promises, so now the political climate has shifted. Happens in every democracy. It wasn't because they've become less "nice."
